What’s up, internet basketball junkie?

College basketball is over 😢… on to the NBA! I honestly prefer watching NBA to college basketball for two specific reasons: 1. It doesn’t translate much to high school basketball, so I can just watch it for entertainment without having my coaching hat on 2. I like watching the best athletes in the world operate in space.

Anyways, two new products hit the store over the last few weeks. I wrote “Tempo 4 Talent,” a 42 page guide on how to create the game that most favors your team. It talks about how the schemes and strategies you deploy change how the game is played, and suggests tactics to use to change it in your favor. It comes with a cheat sheet for tactical choices for each of the 4 styles of play. Check it out HERE​

Also, Coach Berge (@gb1121) made his “Culture Wins Bundle” available on the store. It features three eBooks bundled together into one product. I’d highly recommend the bundle, especially if you don’t have a season theme for next season. 🥇 Best of the Week - Dan Hurley stole a play from my YouTube channel and used it in the National Championship game! Can you believe that? Unreal. I reached out to the UCONN athletic department for comment but I guess they were busy celebrating or something 🤷🏻‍♂️

PG - 🚦 Red, yellow, green stoplight system​

I love the idea of a stoplight system to gain a strategic advantage. It’s easy to understand, and can be used in a variety of applications. I tweeted about using it for communicating to your team how aggressive you want to be going for steals in the passing lanes, but it can be used for shot selection, offensive rebounding, transition offense, etc

SG - 📺 How to close quarters strong - Set plays for the end of periods​

Here are some of my favorite options out of 4 corners to take the last shot of any quarter. Game management is so critical to becoming the best version of a head coach you can be. One way to manage a game, is to take the last shot of a quarter for a chance to end the quarter with the momentum

Coaches submitted a lot of great feedback that will likely change how these look in the future, most notably, how concentrated the text is over the page. I think breaking it up with some color and tables might make it easier for the players to digest
